Conn Smythe Trophy

The Conn Smythe Trophy is an annual NHL award presented to the most valuable player (MVP) during the Stanley Cup playoffs. Named after Conn Smythe, it has been awarded since 1965. Members of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association vote for the winner at the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Finals. The NHL Commissioner presents the trophy before the Stanley Cup presentation. Only the winner is announced at the presentation, unlike most NHL awards. Vote tallies have been released since 2017.
