Elissa Slotkin is an American politician who is currently serving as the junior United States Senator from Michigan, beginning in 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served in the United States House of Representatives from 2019 to 2025. Before entering politics, Slotkin worked as an intelligence analyst.
In 1900, Elissa Slotkin's great-grandfather, Samuel Slotkin, emigrated from Minsk and founded Hygrade Meat Company.
