Sergio Ramos is a highly decorated Spanish professional footballer, renowned as one of the best centre-backs ever. Currently captain of Liga MX club Monterrey, he is celebrated for his aerial prowess, leadership qualities, and goal-scoring record, including over 100 goals for Real Madrid. He spent sixteen seasons at Real Madrid, securing four UEFA Champions League titles. Ramos also achieved significant international success with the Spain national team, winning two UEFA European Championships and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

In the final, his pass nearly set up Marcos Senna's first international goal, but the latter missed his opportunity by inches. In January 2009, Sergio Ramos scored an acrobatic volley in a match against Mallorca and continued his scoring run the following week against Osasuna.

Following the match, Spain manager Enrique described Ramos as a 'unique player in history'.
In June 2019, Sergio Ramos achieved his 121st win with the Spanish national team, equaling Iker Casillas' all-time record, and subsequently broke the record with his 122nd win after a 4-1 victory against the Faroe Islands, where he scored Spain's opening goal.
