Firehouse Subs is an American fast casual restaurant chain specializing in submarine sandwiches. Founded in 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida, by firefighter brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, the chain emphasizes its firefighter heritage. Firehouse Subs is now a subsidiary of Restaurant Brands International, a parent company that also owns Burger King, Popeyes, and Tim Hortons.
On October 10, 1994, the first Firehouse Subs restaurant was opened in Jacksonville, Florida.

The second wave of franchising for Firehouse Subs began in 2001.
In 2011, Firehouse Subs opened its first franchises in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico.
By 2012, Firehouse Subs reached 500 locations, ending the year with nearly 600.
In 2015, Firehouse Subs opened its first location in Canada, specifically in Oshawa, Ontario, and also launched a loyalty program.
In July 2016, Firehouse Subs opened its 1,000th location.
In June 2017, Firehouse Subs opened its first airport location at Jacksonville International.
In December 2017, Firehouse Subs opened its second airport location at Orlando International.
In 2017, Jay Miller joined Firehouse Subs as the director of product development, working alongside Chris and Robin to develop the menu.
In April 2018, Firehouse Subs opened its first on-campus location at Western New England University.
In 2020, Firehouse Subs opened a location at Jacksonville's Baptist Medical Center.
On November 15, 2021, Restaurant Brands International, the parent company of Burger King, announced its plan to acquire Firehouse Subs for $1 billion.
On December 15, 2021, the acquisition of Firehouse Subs by Restaurant Brands International was completed.
On June 22, 2023, Firehouse Subs opened its first location outside of North America in Zurich, Switzerland.
By 2025, Firehouse Subs plans to expand its locations to the United Kingdom and Australia.
In 2026, Firehouse Subs plans to open its first location in Brazil.
