Michael Ralph "Mo" Foster was a highly versatile English multi-instrumentalist, record producer, composer, author, and public speaker with a career spanning over 50 years. He collaborated with a diverse array of renowned artists such as Jeff Beck, Phil Collins, Ringo Starr, and the London Symphony Orchestra. Foster released solo albums, authored a humorous book on British rock guitar, and contributed articles to music publications. He was also involved in music education as an assessor for JAMES. His significant contribution to the British songwriting and composing community was recognized with a BASCA Gold Badge Award in 2014.

In 1970, Affinity's eponymous album, produced by John Anthony, was released by Vertigo Records, featuring arrangements by John Paul Jones. Despite positive reviews, it didn't sell well.
In 1970, after Affinity's last gig, Mo Foster responded to an unexpected job offer from Chris Demetriou and joined ex-Manfred Mann singer Mike d'Abo's band.
In 1971, Linda Hoyle left Affinity to release a solo album, leading to the band's dissolution. Mo Foster then sought work as a freelance bass guitarist.
