Bradley Kevin Marchand is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger currently playing for the Florida Panthers in the NHL. He was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the third round, 71st overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Known for his skill and agitating style of play, he has been a prominent player in the NHL.

In 1990, the Bruins clinched their first Stanley Cup Finals appearance since 1990.
In 2004, the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL selected Marchand 24th overall in the QMJHL entry draft.
On January 2, 2006, Marchand was traded by the Wildcats to the Val-d'Or Foreurs.
During the 2006 NHL entry draft, the Boston Bruins traded two fourth-round picks to the New York Islanders for a third-round pick, which they used to select Marchand 71st overall.

On October 21, 2009, Marchand made his NHL debut, recording an assist in a win against the Nashville Predators.
On November 3, 2010, Marchand scored his first NHL goal against the Buffalo Sabres.
On March 17, 2011, Marchand received a two-game suspension for elbowing R. J. Umberger.
On September 14, 2011, the Bruins announced that they had re-signed Marchand to a two-year contract.
In 2011, Brad Marchand had a strong playoff run, scoring 11 goals and 8 assists en route to a Stanley Cup Championship.
On January 9, 2012, Marchand was suspended for five games for clipping Sami Salo, resulting in a concussion.
In January 2012, during a White House visit after the Bruins' Stanley Cup win, President Barack Obama referred to Brad Marchand as a "Little Ball of Hate", a nickname Marchand embraced.

Marchand received fighting and instigator penalties, along with a 10-minute game misconduct.
After a series of suspensions in the 2017-18 season campaign followed by a highly publicized controversy over Marchand's decision to lick his opponents in the 2018 playoffs, the skater made a conscious effort to stay out of trouble during the 2018-19 season, citing a desire "to make sure the longevity is there, that I'm not getting pushed out of the League because of stupidity".
On March 31, 2019, Brad Marchand scored his 26th shorthanded goal against the Detroit Red Wings, breaking Rick Middleton's franchise record. This milestone marked a significant achievement in Marchand's career.
