Shawn Mendes is a Canadian singer-songwriter who rose to prominence in 2013 through his song covers on Vine. In 2014, he signed with Island Records after being discovered by Andrew Gertler and Ziggy Chareton. His debut EP was released that same year, followed by his debut album "Handwritten" in 2015, which reached number one on the Billboard 200, making him one of the youngest artists to achieve this.
