Salvador Perez, nicknamed "El Niño" and "Salvy", is a Venezuelan-American professional baseball catcher and first baseman for the Kansas City Royals. A nine-time MLB All-Star, he has also earned five Gold Glove Awards, five Silver Slugger Awards, and three All-MLB selections. Perez received the World Series Most Valuable Player Award in 2015 when the Royals won the World Series. He was also awarded the Roberto Clemente Award and named the Royals' team captain in 2023.
