Salvador Perez, nicknamed "El Niño" and "Salvy," is a Venezuelan-American professional baseball player for the Kansas City Royals. Primarily a catcher, he also plays designated hitter and first base. A nine-time MLB All-Star, Perez has won five Gold Glove Awards and five Silver Slugger Awards. He was named World Series MVP in 2015 when the Royals won. Perez is a three-time All-MLB selection and received the Roberto Clemente Award. He has played his entire MLB career with the Royals and was named team captain in 2023. Perez also represents Venezuela internationally.
