Tyler Lockett

Tyler Lockett is a professional American football wide receiver who most recently played for the Seattle Seahawks for 10 seasons before being released in 2025 and subsequently signing with the Tennessee Titans. He previously played college football at Kansas State. Lockett is known for his skills as a wide receiver in the NFL.

1995: Tamarick Vanover's Award

In 1995, Tamarick Vanover won the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Month award twice as a rookie. Tyler Lockett would later join him in achieving this.

In 2014, Tyler Lockett was selected as a repeat All Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year and as a first team wide receiver by the Big 12 coaches. He earned recognition from ESPN, CBS Sports, Scout.com, American Football Coaches Association, Sports Illustrated, Football Writers Association of America, USA Today, Walter Camp Foundation, and AP. He was recognized as the 2014 Big 12 Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year, one of five First team Senior All-Americans from the 2014 Senior CLASS Award candidates and with the Jet Award.

September 2015: NFC Special Teams Player of the Month

In September 2015, Tyler Lockett was named National Football Conference (NFC) Special Teams Player of the Month. Lockett returned a 103-yard kickoff for a touchdown against the Denver Broncos in Seattle's preseason opener. He also returned a 57-yard punt for a touchdown on his first career return, against the St. Louis Rams. Additionally, Lockett returned a 105-yard kick return in week 3 against the Chicago Bears, setting a new franchise record. Lockett was the first Seahawks rookie to win the award since Joey Galloway.
